Consolidation is going to happen

Consolidation is going to happen

I get tired of reading about who is a basher or a pumper as I think most of us have enough intelligence to figure out who is what. Do your own DD as there is lots of information out there to make your decision and not on the back of some hacks on this board.  Is longford going to be bought out is the ongoing question and for how much.  Rumours and facts sometimes go hand in hand as there was the announcement by Genel that they were interested in Longford and the rumour just recently that Exxon might buy out Gulf Keystone.  The perception right now is in this area is that consolidation will happen in Kurdistan by majors buying out small caps and this is being encouraged by the KRG who see majors like Exxon and others will force the issue on Bagdad to pass the oil laws and accept the oil sharing agreements that have been signed with the KRG.

If Longford gets bought out then others like VST, GSA and even WZR will follow. Most of these small caps do not have the money to drill these properties so making money on them is going to be through buyouts. I have lots of shares and been accumulating at these low prices (undervalued prices remains to be seen).  However, one must realize the risk here because of the concerns in this area such as the spread of sectarian violence, the effect of the american troop pullout on Kurdistan security, the oil and gas laws, and whether Exxon will be kicked out of the southern fields of Iraq for their contract to explore the six blocks in Kurdistan.  That decision alone is a game changer.
