True enough.  VTR and several other stocks I follow signaled that they could be set to kick off a rally through the quiet week between Christmas and New Year, which would have set up the possibility for a nice longer-term trend reversal, particularly since so many are so oversold right now.  But today's action has reversed those signals, so back to square one.

And as for the ITG comment, I was really just venting, it's been a difficult and frustrating market for quite some time now, and the gold sector is especially flakey - the concept of 'strong hand' doesn't seem to exist, whether this is intentional manipulation, or just hyper-greed/hyper-fear oscillations in the buying/selling community, I don't know.
