OIL GAS CORPORATIONS GOING SOLAR It appears major corporations don't have the misgivings that some investors (or perhaps non-investors) hold here.
Aside from the recent announced large solar purchase by TOTAL SA FRANCE (BIG OIL HOLDINGS) with a major share holder being Power Corp of Canada, a Multi National investment company, It would appear that some of the greatest business minds in the world are preparing for the near future of solar. Can they all be wrong? I don't think so.
CALGARY, Alberta - December 20, 2011 - TransCanada Corporation (TSX, NYSE: TRP) (TransCanada) today announced it has agreed to purchase nine Ontario solar projects from Canadian Solar Solutions Inc., with a combined capacity of 86 megawatts (MW), for approximately $470 million. All nine projects have 20-year power purchase agreements with the Ontario Power Authority.
