RE: old dog Good Day Schmid, good to hear your doing well and that the stocks are soon coming around. Unlike you I have shorter term goals as I am just retired and while it's not my pension money as I have a decent pension I like to play to win and grow my money.
Stocks can be like kids and you fall in love with them...OH THEY'LL go UP!!!! again tomorrow and tomorrow never comes for some stocks. A person has to know when it's time to cut their losses and move on......did you lose on that stock...yep but over time if you get out and buy something else for a while you might just get back in and recoup all the losses and gain some profit. Still money is dead money and I tend to think that if you go where price and direction are right then you should do better than most. The problem is we all get greedy and like I always say..."Ye who gets greedy shall always pay the price". A person has to know when enough is enough.
Example: you do a trade on $10,000.00 everyday and get 1% from that stock after commissions and do it for 220 trading days a year and see where you are at the end of the year....answer ( $89.269.32) . Now I have to tell you if can make that kind of return your doing just fine....treat stocks like trading cards...you buy it...someone offers you more....you sell it...whether it be a day trade or 4 days away but you keep the money moving.
Any stock like CAJ will have it's good and bad days you just have to know when to get out....take your losses like some folks have in this stock and buy it back when it's turning around and buy more than you had in the first place...it's all about volume and using that volume to show the returns that you need to spread out farther than before or obtain enough cash to go and play somewhere else and keep some in cash to play that hot daily stock while the other stocks are earning their percent or two.
Well I'm long winded, remember do your DD and be willing to send the kids out to play if they don't play nice sell them, yeah you'll ache for a while but when you find better kids....you'll be happy to sell them too and take the money and run.
