RE: RE: BRAZIL MOVES AT THE SPEED OF OSMOSIS!!! Ah, Brazil. Yes they're more relaxed than we are and things take longer and it can be very frustrating if you are trying to get things done. But that can be said for most of Europe and many other places besides. Most do not speak English aside or can understand a bit but not speak it. They are the sole oasis of Portuguese in the western hemisphere and they're very protective of it, even more so against Spanish.
This is also Brazilian summer so things move even slower than usual as many people vacation during this period the same as we do during our summers. For the most part, Brazil doesn't resume business until the second week of January, so nothing much would have been happening since a few days before Christmas. Carnival, the time when everyone is up partying all hours, is not until the weekend of Feb 18 so I suspect that we will see a few loose ends tied up and some news before then. The week after Carnival is also a write off and then we're getting into their autumn and things really start getting back on track.
Anyway, I would be very surprised if we didn't see some news in the next 2-3 weeks.
