RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: share value
RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: share value I agree with everything you say BTshooter. The two major royalty companies I'm aware of being Franco-Nevada & Royal Gold both trade well over 40 times their earnings. Much larger companies one can argue but neither generates income in excess of $250 million and both have market caps into the billions.
No reason I can see that Callinan couldn't be trading at even half those multiples. So compare that with Callinan's market cap of around $150 million and just under $30 million in revenue. Even management agrees the shares are undervalued they've said so in their press releases as the reason for buying back the shares.
But so far as far as I can see the even though the stock is up in the last week. Buying back around 2 million of it's own shares hasn't helped much in increasing the value of the company. In fact in my opinion it's just made it cheaper for a potential takeover.
Trading at these valuations I think we have a big target on our backs. I think it would be shame to see this company go even at a 100% premium from it's current price. But I think a lot of shareholders would be very willing to give up their shares for a 50% premium. I think the reason why the share price is where it is is beacause not enough people know about Callinan.
