RE: neverindoubt post excellent read.....
RE: neverindoubt post excellent read..... Good post Hedger. I couldn't agree more. I'd also like to mention that a 7-8 month time line to bring the existing wells into production is wayy too long. There are many other small oil companies drilling from scratch and bringing into production more then 20 wells a year. Also, am i to understand that since the discovery well and the much talked about other 6 wells... 100% success rate etc etc. Only the discovery well has been brought into production? 6 months and only one well was brought online? I agree with all the posters here that some exceptional luck and forsight brought us a real gem in POP here... but that was six months ago. There's been virtually no activity since. This was my main issue with POP. I guess that explains the no news releases since that time. I kept getting gently ribbed over this but what happened on friday? POP hires a new COO. Big suprise there. POP was directionless. This is why there was no news, no more drilling, no bringing the other wells online, no 3 month flow rates, no mention of financings. Basically no one at POP knew what to do or where to go. Now with the hiring of a COO, hopefully things will speed up to a more normal level of development.
I'll say it again so this post doesn't come off as "soft bash". I really like POP. I want to believe that we're going somewhere, but the last six months since the discovery well have been a waste. Its why the SP declined. There was nothing going on. When I think back to the weeks/months that immediately followed and many of the regular posters on here were calling, next week, next month, there will be news about this and that, about flow rates... There was little of anything substantive released but still these posters act like sheeple. Its ok to question managements direction while still liking the assets the company holds. It doesn't make you a basher. I think there's been mistakes made by POP management since the discovery well. PR mistakes, lack of investor education, lack of a plan in general. Perhaps POP management was just too suprised at the level of immediate success they did have and didn't know how to proceed afterwards. Like a deer in the headlights. In any event here's to hoping the new COO knows what he's doing so that 2012 will truely be the year everyone hopes it will be for POP.
