But seriously, anything less than 200m is shallow as far as open pit goes

at a very conservative 1:1 width to depth ratio, we could openpit/strip to 150 m and only take up that same 150m laterally around the deposit.

Open pits go as deep as 400m or more. And some crazy fkers in South africa dug one to 240 m BY HAND, it was more like a giant shaft but still.
