feet on the ground
feet on the ground For all who are understandably anxious to hear news of BZA. I went to the mine on Monday afternoon just to see what I could see. I talked with a security guy for a while about the progress of the mining. The mine is nearing full production. I was there about 3 weeks ago and was told that they were mining 2 shifts a day, and milling 1 shift. They were to go to round the clock both with mining and milling today (Tues). No concentrate has yet been shipped, but is stored on site. The crusher is large enough so it only needs to run every few days, with the crushed ore being stored in the silo awaiting milling.
Labor has been a problem in the early startup, but that issue is being resolved with the passage of time. They have more or less separated the 'wheat from the chaff' now and have a pretty fair workforce.
The following is just my personal belief about the reason that we havn't had any recent news. I think that the last several weeks have been very stressful for those in charge at the mine, and that their priorites have been to get the operation smoothed out and producing gold. Taking time out to report to the media was probably the last thing on their mind.
