OPL = Over Patents Limits If OPL continues at the same slow pace, their patents will be expired and not worth the paper they are written on...
Fairchij, can you do something useful for the members of this board: please provide the list of OPL's patents with their respective expiry dates...
This is something that any company interested into licencing their POET technology will check. If they think that the technology may fall in the public domain within a reasonable time frame (i.e. < 5 to 8 years), chances are that they won't even bother entering into any kind of negotiations with OPL... developing/concluding a licensing agreement of this nature can take anywhere between 1-3 years. If OPL did not even receive any LOI (letter of intent) from any possible partner yet, chances are that their cash balance will soon be negative again and the stock will be diluted again.
If BAE is serious about the POET technology, OPL's management should consider to enter into some kind of exclusive agreement with them against a certain amount of cash (i.e. $20M). Else, they should start discussions with any other potential partners (IBM, Google, etc...) about possible licensing agreements.
This is just good business sense. But I am sure that you guys don't want to read this type of post. You prefer to read the tech crap from Oogee or the meteorological updates from Fairchij on global warming....
