Projected Resource: 150 Billion barrels OIP

Projected Resource: 150 Billion barrels OIP

I've been hearing some folks suggesting 100B barels and I thought that was a little unreasonable but then I remembered a SEPAC presentation on SPE's website that suggested there was 150 billion barrels of (contingent) oil in place.

https://www.shoalpointenergy.com/pdfs/SEPAC%20presentation%20May%2031%202011.pdf

NOTE: This presentation was prepared and deliverd after they finished drilling 3K-39 to 1745m depth.

I have a very good questions I would like all the fence sitters to ponder.

  • Given that SEPAC is a highly respected association that has a very important role for Canada's junior and mid-sized oil explration companies... is it at all likley that SPE would have made a presentation to their peers using false or uncredible information?
  • Given that 3k-39 was conducted as a tight hole is it possible that they did in fact already perform the cased hole test at 1745m and from this they determined that the zone they were interested in at 1745m was chock full of oil.
  • The March 2010 Resource Evaluation report that I've mentioned before only projected 5.2 billion barrels of oil. HOW IN WORLD DID THEY GO FROM 5.2B BARRELS TO 150B BARRELS OF OIL WITHOUT ANY APPARENT DISCOVERY?????

I wish someone out there would press SPE for the status of the cased hole test.

PLEASE!!!! Someone that has langdon's ear... ask him about it!!!

Discuss among yourselves :-)
