RE: RE: RE: RE: Louis James, Casey Research: Silve I meant to type disheartening, but didn't catch the typo.
Doug Casey is right - the sky is falling! I've been around long enough to know that the writing is on the wall, and you must be very young or have a very short memory if you can't see it! What major institution is not on the defensive right now?
Well, theres a lot to his book "Crisis Investing", but I would suggest cutting him some slack by reading his Introduction to the Paperback Edition, 1995. Do you think you could do a better job of predicting where this world (or the US) will be 10, 20 or 30 years from now? I made a lot of money on his predictions, when I was a paying subscriber, so I have a different perspective, perhaps.
I suggest you read "The Fourth Turning", or even current news articles. There are so many potential "world-changing" issues on the table right now, and few of them are positive! Are you young enough to be subject to "the draft"? If so, I'm afraid your opportunity may come to help sort out the mess. I've done my National Service, and am too old now to be called back. (At least, I think so!!) But I think a repeat of the '30's and the '40's is quite possible. By the way, that qualifies as "the sky is falling" in my books.
Have you listened to any of Nigel Farage's speeches at the EU? See if he thinks its all "the sky is falling!"
Anyway, no animosity here! I respect your views, and I'll re-read my copy of "Crisis Investing", including the two introductions.
