Unfortunately most people learn the importance of DD the hard way.  My broker convinced me to buy Enron way back when - how's that for a little life lesson?

Whether or not someone waits for the full feasibility study before starting to invest in a company like Orbite is somewhat a matter of personal investment style imo.  But for sure one has to do their DD and decide how many shares they are willing to buy and at what price.  Also, initiating a partial position in a company and then averaging up when various milestones are met is a legitimate and common strategy.
