There are no free lunches when it comes to dividend payouts. News release says dividends paid to shareholders on record as at feb 23 and the ex dividend basis on feb 21st. That means if u bought in on Friday, u would have received the dividend. Why does it make sense? Because Monday is a holiday and by the time Tuesday the 21 st hits the stock will be already be trading 5 cents less. I bought in on Friday not because of the dividend but think this will see 8's again by April. Company's capex is clearly looking for oil and liquids based, gas is about 50% which has been why prices have been depressed but even more pure gas plays have been rebounding. With the debenture, not worried about not being able to pay out dividends. Also a good size takeover target but I'm only in it for a short term. Glta.
