The first appointment to the advisory board is Jonathan Soper, P. Eng., a mining engineer. Mr Soper received his Engineering Diploma from Cape Breton University in 1992 completing a Mining Engineering degree in 1995 from the Technical University of Nova Scotia. Through university studies and employment Mr. Soper has visited and researched the mineral deposits in the Maritimes region in particular Brunswick 12, Heath Steele, Pugwash salt deposit, Rio Tinto East Kemptville mine, National and Little Narrows Gypsum mines and Cape Breton underground coal. Mr. Soper brings 19 years experience in mining and extraction processes of gold, coal, and the Athabascan Oil Sands. Over the past 16 years Mr. Soper has been a Professional Engineer gaining experience in underground and open pit mining at the Dome Mine (gold), Prince mine (coal), Suncor Energy and Shell Albiansands (oilsands) working as an underground miner, engineer, supervisor and area manager. Mr. Soper continued to develop with a private mining contracting company holding positions of Senior Engineer, Project Manager, Site Manager and General Manager at several operations. Throughout his career Jonathan has been in the management of both private companies as well as public companies with annual revenues of over a billion dollars.
