Feb 27, 2012 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- Mobile messaging solutions provider Synchronica plc (aim:SYNC) announced on Monday new functionality within its Unity product, which provides on-the-go translation between 53 languages.
The new functionality is powered by Ortsbo, a subsidiary of Intertainment Media Inc (INT)(otcqx:ITMTF)(fra:I4T), a provider of real-time experiential language services. No financial details were disclosed.
According to the company, users of Unity need to initiate a chat and then choose their preferred Ortsbo-supported language. Messages which are sent and received as part of the chat are then instantly translated without requiring any further user intervention.
The service is currently available to Unity's Android OS users and will be extended to other device platforms in the future. It supports a range of commercial Instant Messaging services, including Yahoo! and Facebook Chat. The service can also be used by Unity's operator own-branded Instant Messaging community.
