I think BC said the CEO gave him the 2% number during a meeting.  It was obvious that BC thought this was a positive.  I'm not so sure however.  having your nat.gas production represent 2% of your cashflow (or revenue) would mean that their nat.gas $$ have plunged or their $$ from oil production have dramatically ramped up.  Maybe a little of both.  However, I dont think avf's oil production has increased to a point where it dwarfs their nat.gas cashflow. 

Anyway, it was only the coles notes version of the explanation that BC gave us.  I imagine avf's ceo went into quite a bit more detail regarding the stability of their div.  So despite my uneasy feeling about this 2% number, I'll elect to side with BC and continue to think the div is secure for the time being.  Year end numbers should give more insight regarding this discussion.
