RE: RE: RE: RE: That Doesn't Sound Like Cold Feet Thanks for the courteous discouse . I know about BC geography , I've lived here for over 30 years . Worked on the start up of the Chetwynd gas plant , invested in oil and gas for 20 years . I know the extent of the resource . My point is that it is very likely the NDP will win the next election . Their policies include a total review on fracking , this would probably start with a moratorium . They also propose to set up a fund so that farmers and other affected parties can proceed with law suits for compensation . Their stance on royalties is that they must be increased , along with windfall taxes .
So if this head nut at Apache , who is going to invest billions , has any sense at all he will not make a decision until after the next election . May of 2013 . In fact probably not for months after that until the government settles down . It doesn't matter how much gas there is or where it can go . Theres plenty of natgas in the MacKenzie delta too that won't get used for decades . This project won't proceed until it can be assured the government won't implement policies will expose the industry to excessive litigation and capped profits .
