RE: news around the corner? Vanchester,
ISM is about to inundate the Sedar site with news.
At some time soon, there should be another Notice of Meeting, to announce where the meeting will be held - in case any one really wants to attend. That is, of course, unless they decide to postpone the meeting, which would be a shame as its the first one to be held by the required date since ISM graduated from the Venture. They did postpone their AGM back in 2008, you will likely recall - the reason given was that certain foreign shareholders had not received notice properly. There was conjecture among the critics that the process was interrupted by a bit of a power struggle between the Texas delegation and The Randy Mann and his Dream Team. There may be some substance to the critics' theory, as Allen Mann was a nominee as Director for the original meeting, but disappeared without explanation on the Directors' ballot for the eventual AGM. There was a bit of a flurry of Texas activity between the original notice and the eventual AGM, as Allen Mann was named as a Senior Officer [Director of Operations], and Launchpad Capital was announced as a firm that would perform various wonders for AGM. The principals of both of these initiatives vanished into thin air, without having accomplished anything of note - possibly before the eventual 2008 AGM?
As well as notice[s] about the AGM, we should also have the first quarter financial statements and MD&A to pore through. ISM was allowed an extra month to do the IFRS thing to their financial statements, I guess the requirement to make the switch caught them by surprise, and more time was required. The statements may get less criticism than in the past, as everyone will be so confused, some of the obvious matters of concern might be overshadowed by accounting gobbledygook. The extra month may result in a MD&A that's a masterpiece of insight into the inner workings of this conglomerate and the strategies of the corporate giants leading ISM to glory. On the other hand, It may be the usual copy of prior MD&A efforts, with some dates reworked, and some of the prior spelling errors corrected.
Whatever ISM feeds us, if nothing else it will be evidence on Sedar that the company is alive - and not as inactive as it may have appeared. My vote for the most newsworthy accomplishment of the year would be that a penny stock mining company stirred on property near ISM's Barton Creek holdings. We should also get news of any of the Officers [such as Director of Operations, if there was one] that are no longer with us - as tidbits such as this are sometimes included in the information circular or Annual Information Form.
