A couple years ago pine was going for $60/ton for board quality, therefore, that would have brought in about 12 000 acre if using the same metrics. Also, NA forests are usually trimmed, with half value being removed at year 16 to clear out weak trees and sold for pulp.
These are stumpage costs which are those that are paid to the landowner so it does not reflect actual value of the wood.
