RE: RE: RE: RE: 19 million shares sold short Since you ask lets dissect your post. Normally when somebody keeps repeating 2+2=5 even after being corrected I just shake my head and say against stupidity there is no cure.
Holy smokes you don't get it. 384 million shares outstanding...get that! Got it. So what? Less than Goldcorp, Barrick or Kinross. More than Detour or Agnico. Not an unreasonable amount.
We traders, investors can't move the stock in any direction...get that! Osisko been range bound but show me a gold stock that has gone up. Kinross down. Agnico down, Clifton Star down. Rubicon down., Barrick stagnant, Aurizon down. Eldorado down. Niogold stagnant. Osisko in ramp up mode. Investors say show me the money.
Got it However, if your staff receives compensation with shares attached as bonus' and they immediately sell those in the open market, what message do they convey? Portfolio managers/traders see this continuation of selling as no faith in the company, regardless if that staff member is looking to gain extra income for her or himself...get that! No I don't get this. There is no negative message conveyed. I don't know any portfolio managers who see this as an act of no faith in the company. Don't know what planet you come from but here on earth granting directors options and having them exercise them and selling the common stock is a very common practice. Options are exercised, stocks sold, and the following year directors are granted new options. It is simply part of their compensation. Insider sales would have some negative connotation if insiders reduced their holding significantly but that's clearly not the case here.As pointed out to you but you chose to simply ignore is that the 900,000 shares sold by insideras over the past 12 months is half a day's normal trading volume. Peanuts!! CEO and CFO no sales. By the way how many insider sales occured as Osisko went from $1.40 up to $15.00.You will be asking the same dumb question next year as directors sell and the price of Osisko is in the $20's.
I would hold retention rights attached to those bonus' for a minimum of a year plus. Companies do this all the time. When is the last time the company or director/executive did a buy back of shares? I'm talking a large amount. Dumb idea. We are not a bank but are a mining company focused on increasing our gold production to over a 1 million ounces. Focus should be on getting Hammond Reef feasibility study finalized and then getting mine into production.
Everyone on this board talks about where the share price should be, so why isn't it ? All the big players know about the cone crusher and ramp up of tonnage, they know about the gold price targets and costs, yet the stock is stagnant.......
They also knew about Osisko potential of 600k to 700 k a year ago. Still have to prove it. Last quarter production and cash costs although improving not yet indicative of 60,000 tonnes/per day or $550 cash cost. Market wants to see proof. Hopefully with crusher we are there but market wants evidence Show me the money or in this case $550 cash cost and 60,000 tonnes per day. This is the key holdup not that lamebrain idea of insiders selling.
