Venture performance and market comment

As I thought when I prognosticated flat to red overall with green spikes on positive news of the day is coming to fruition. The TSX has flattened out too. Gold is also way down from it’s highs as selling in equities and margin calls are starting to direct Canadian markets. Gold stocks are also down today, but I feel this trend will end eventually perhaps by the end of summer depending what the turnout in the rest of Europe. Glad to see Greece finally trade debt instruments and stabilize Europe a bit but other countries could face debt repayments and may require further bailouts.

The U.S. continues to be the bright spot as they put most of their debt issues behind them (except for the deficit). My only concern there is some of the U.S banks. With summer doldrums approaching look for markets to continue to be flat to red with the odd green days on some news of the day. I myself have reduced and retreated from numerous positions but will look at oversold micro to small caps over the coming summer. There is no rush at the moment.
