No..not in 2011. This is where the disconnect was between earnings projections and actual earnings. I think analysts got it wrong when putting together projections. I talked with Investor Relations at Glentel and they told me that this was the biggest reason why earnings came in below what was expected. Having low iphone4s sales during the holiday season Glentel did not hit a lot of their sales bonuses. He also pointed out that they went against one of their most successful quarters (Q4 of 2010) so on a quarter to quarter basis it looks like the company is regressing.

In addressing the increase in sales and decrease in earnings he said that this is related to the nature of the business in signing up customers to long term contracts. Glentel views the big growth engines as an increase in popularity of other smartphone brands and the expansion of their latest takeover (macstation)

Here is a link with more information on the Costco-Apple feud: https://www.phonearena.com/news/Costco-to-stop-offering-Apple-iPhone-and-iPod_id14029

Apparently Costco has done this before to Coca Cola.

I don't think the story is over on this one although it would have been nice to take some profits and then reinvest on this massive dive.
