time to hedge the bet is all

time to hedge the bet is all

spartan did well-no doubt about it.as did others-some times with really no rhyme or reason.

there are oilers out there that should be higher and some that deserve to be pummelled.in the end it is the #s that prevail but sentiment and house can shape things as we all know.

i like to get a momo ride just like the next guy but would prefer to invest somewhere decent once in a while.too long in the tooth from all perspectives to know that life is never fair so in the end sp will prevail above all but still..

i had some extra time this winter and kept my eye on a few co.s.sometimes the pudding is just there and the heck with ya.hyx has been one of the easiest, open co.s to follow(for me) with no bs.

a couple of co.s i watch brag about reserves but no production, land value but no offers, share buy backs instead of admitting the 'stragetic alternatives' is overused and in the end shareholders gripe that they were never compensated.

i dunno.a risk? ya.especially with sp appreciation last few months.still good? for what it's worth i still think 2 soon and the best candidate for take-out come summer.hyx mngt will decide that.sometimes the lil guy just has something to prove and would rather wait.

some factors to consider for alberta this spring-

heavy oil dropped twenty bucks off wti, sorry novus et al.

operating costs zoomed starting with service outage and shortage plus electricity and diesel fuel up big time

dry gas is the plague

divvy and paper is the flavor of the month

no nice guys in the patch.real paradigm shift there(imo) but same old for competition.

i know for a fact of a trucking co that sold out and accepted a no competition clause and promptly hired the old staff to work construction.another co that had to accept 'waste oil' price for solution because the plant said what you going to do?

line your ducks up and be beholden to no one(except of course, the market).

hyx went top heavy in early 2012 for a reason and didn't just talk about it.we'll see in awhile if it was the right move.i really think that their #s are going to be impressive, not just for b per d but for management of business.

good luck all.
