STERLING RESOURCES COMMENCES DRILLING OF SOUTH CLADHAN WELL IN THE UK NORTH SEA
Sterling Resources Ltd. has started drilling operations on the South Cladhan exploration prospect located in block 210/29c of the United Kingdom North Sea. The well is being drilled using the Sedco 704 semi-submersible rig and is anticipated to take up to 40 days to complete.
"We are pleased to launch the exploration program in South Cladhan with this well," noted John Rapach, Sterling's chief operations officer. "We will be targeting similar Upper Jurassic channel sands to those that we have already appraised in the Cladhan field to the north," added Mr. Rapach.
Sterling, as operator, holds a 25-per-cent interest in block 210/29c, with Valiant Petroleum PLC holding 30 per cent, Wintershall U.K. North Sea Ltd. holding 25 per cent and Agora Oil and Gas U.K. Ltd. holding 20 per cent
