Mainstream financial institutions (such as UBS, DB, etc) are great CONTRARY indicators as to where the markets are going.

They seek to profit by selling exactly when they give advice to buy, and vice versa.

Their clients (mostly) are on the same sell/buy side as the financial institution, but the fact that that even though they are not positioninig their clients according to their public statements on where a market is going doesn't diminish the fact that by putting this buy/sell advice out there, the common masses who will truly drive the market are taking this false advice to heart.

You can always count on the common guy to buy into this ridiculous cycle. The big institutions know this, and profit more often than not according to it.
