RE: RE: RE: Results Talk is cheap these days. Management has no idea on how to run an engineered products company at all. They let go the VP of Engineering to save cost, but keep 5 HR directors for the Central Region. They "regionalized" the national engineering department that did the all the design and drafting of all the steel products back in 2010 by terminating the majority of the department against numerous warnings of sure failure. Last fall they announced that this department will be rebuilt back in Guelph once again (as it didn't work like the bean counters thought).
Knowledgable people in Engineering, design and sales from all parts of the former business units (PreCon, ConForce, Durasol, Armtec) are leaving on their own accord, most to other competitors in the industry as they are feed up with the lack of motivation, direction and employee engagement. They are tired of getting the shaft on benefits and bonuses after numerous recorded breaking sales (a few years ago).
Who would install a plastic pipe plant in a location not central to the market, only to run it for a couple of months, then strip parts off it to fix other machines at other locations, just to save cost. Who would spend millions on an ERP system, only to spend millions more a couple of years to change to another system.
List of blundering errors goes on and on, you just need to ask the right questions.
As the saying goes, you need to spend money to make money. I see no new products being developed, just new products from other companies that they have purchased. I doubt that any money is invested in R and D as that is never mentioned in any reports. New products is the key to new sales, not over paying for companies.
Check out this article about a competitor and check out there new products and their success...at the cost of Armtec? A sure thing....
