RE: Zero Trading Volume at 9:54 AM EDT

Everything is slow. From G&M:

In economic news, U.S. factories orders will be released shortly after markets open. In the afternoon, the Federal Reserve will release the minutes from its last monetary policy meeting, which could shed some more light on where the central bank stands on recent economic improvements and the need for ultra-low interest rates or more stimulative measures.

Among commodities, crude oil fell 0.6 per cent, to $104.57 (U.S.) a barrel. Gold was unchanged.

Meanwhile, investors will be keeping an eye on Royal Bank of Canada after a U.S. regulator sued the bank for making what it sees as illegal futures trades. RBC has denied the charges. The bank has also decided to buy the 50 per cent of Dexia that it doesn't already own, for $1.1-billion.
