Alright Tony, you're off the hook.

But Hoozier, these days if your broker doesn't allow direct trading on a foreign exchange, they're just being cheap and doing you a disservice.

"Pink sheets" can have very different prices than the actual shares in Canada. Average volume is much lower (less liquid). The spread between buy and ask is usually wider. All that puts the "pink-sheet" trader at serious disadvantage.

Interactive Brokers, ETrade, and Fidelity all allow direct trading on the TSX, where you buy and trade in the actual shares in real-time. And it doesn't cost much more. Any other brokers who have the gall to offer you "pink sheets" are just selling you an inferior product. Don't buy it -- demand better.
