Good to know... Looks like the NRC is backtracking. This came out yesterday.
DENVER (AP) -- Federal regulators are clarifying a letter they sent regarding the Pinon Ridge uranium mill that Energy Fuels Corp. wants to build in southwest Colorado.
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission sent a letter in February saying it had substantiated a concern that Colorado health officials didn't provide an opportunity for a public hearing on a license for Pinon Ridge. The letter was sent to a lawyer for the Sheep Mountain Alliance, which is challenging a state license issued for the mill.
In a new letter to state health officials, the commission said its February letter was unclear and that it didn't mean to imply it had concluded anything about the validity of the license. The commission's latest comments were included in court documents filed Monday relating to Sheep Mountain Alliance's challenge.
