Its good to see that the project is making the rounds through the government and that there are positive responses to the new proposal.

Hope a resolution can surprise to the quick side.

Nacho Gaffuri / MDZ
Mendoza to San Juan back in the mining method.
The environment secretary said that the only mining project in the province is the Vale. He clarified that the San Jorge project is still being reviewed in the legislature.

In an extensive interview that Mark Zandomeni offered in Journal de Cuyo , the Environment Secretary Mendoza admitted that the method and model applied in the province is a copy of the San Juan mine Gualcamayo.

In the words of Zandomeni "environmental control method we have implemented in Mendoza we have copied some of the system applied in the San Juan mine Gualcamayo. Which is based on the subject of additional royalties. This is very good because the three percent is added an additional (the gross, not mine mouth) that is used for environmental control and sustainable development. " He also noted that the only project that is developing in the Vale Mendoza while the St. George is still the legislature.

He also said that the debate on the issue of mining is a high level in Mendoza, said "we have created a space for debate in Mendoza (...) Many institutions are working with environmental control."

Comparing the model of Mendoza to San Juan and Catamarca, Zandomeni said "we are neither developed nor backward." He said that "we are calm and waiting to continue the project of Vale." At the end of the interview, the environment secretary, said he has very good relations with Raul Tello, Secretary of Environment of San Juan. "I am a friend of Raul Tello and we always consult or advise us on these issues. Exchange information, comments etc.. We have many common issues such as native forests and so on. There is no reason why there should be a rivalry in There are actually a great fraternity in this area. " To see the full interview, click here . Source: Journal of Cuyo.
