RE: desperate
RE: desperate Jerros; Appreciate the angst as I've been in WZR since 2008. However, the current becalmed SP is mirrored by others in the region and is probably caused by the politics as you observe. The politics are at a point of inflexion IMO. I posted elsewhere at the time of The Erbil Agreement; i.e. exports leading to a Federal Oil & Gas Law, that this was a litmus test for the KRG. If Maliki failed to observe his part of the bargain then I predicted either Plan B ( get rid of him ) or Plan C ( K'n independence ) would be on the cards. Exxon recently played into this scenario as the KRG gave them an excellent deal and they duly destabilised and called the bluff on Maliki & Shahristani's position in the South. The propaganda shine has worn off the recent 'great achievement' of a 2.3 MM bbls/day ICG production figure and now everyone is observing that Shahristani's much-trumpeted 12 MM bbls/day dream was and is a fantasy. The populace must soon be asking questions of Shahristani about electricity or the lack thereof and he will need to watch his back. It is ironic to note that there will be no hiding place when the lights go out. The ICG is going to struggle to get oil production much above 4 MM bbls/day unless they give the majors a much better deal. And, that now means allowing Exxon to operate in the North and the South. So it's sh|t or get off the pot time for Maliki. My feeling is that the KRG have Maliki's feet to the fire and a tectonic shift is near. IMO neither WZR nor an incoming major will announce anything until the political circumstance is settled and so any T/O is unlikely and the SP range-bound either until then or K-2 tests. If there is clear resolution then you can bet that the WZR SP is going to spike rapidly higher. I know you appreciate the value of the assets already discovered and you should weigh the chances of an imminent political settlement against your frustration. You will be mightily p|ssed if you sell and then the politicians do a deal. No investment advice from me and GL with what you decide.
