Nickel Creek Platinum Corp T.NCP

Alternate Symbol(s):  NCPCF

Nickel Creek Platinum Corp. is a Canada-based mining exploration and development company. The Company’s principal business activity is the exploration and evaluation of nickel and platinum group metals (PGM) mineral properties in North America. Its flagship asset is its 100%-owned nickel-copper PGM project, located in the Yukon Territory, Canada (Nickel Shaw Project). The project is in the southwest of Canada's Yukon Territory, approximately 317 kilometers (km) northwest (NW) of the capital, Whitehorse. The Nickel Shaw Project is a large undeveloped nickel sulphide project, with a unique mix of metals including copper, cobalt and platinum group metals. The Nickel Shaw Project has access to infrastructure, located three hours west of Whitehorse via the paved Alaska Highway, which further offers year-round access to deep-sea shipping ports in southern Alaska. The Company also maintains environmental baseline activities, considers optimization alternatives and seeks other opportunities.

With the PEA followed by step out drilling later in the year, I thought I would mention Caribou King Resources (v.CKR) that has property in close proximity to the Wellgreen deposit. CKR is not traded in the US and I do not own any shares (ie: not a tout). Nonetheless, it can not be ignored. If not from an eventual consolidation of properties in and around Wellgreen by NKL, then the potential of mineralization extending into the same. Hence, and for those unfamiliar with this Company, I thought I would do a courtesy mention of the same. A potential play to keep an eye on as NKL continues to explore Wellgreen.

VAULT (CU-AU)

The Vault property covers 3,650 hectares and consists of a series of thrusted and stacked Permo-Triassic age rocks that have a northwest-southeast strike length of over 12 kilometers. The Triassic rocks comprise the basaltic-andesitic rocks of the Nikolai Formation and the mafic-ultramafic rocks of the Kluane Complex. The Kluane Complex hosts the Wellgreen PGE deposit, presently being developed by Prophecy Platinum Corp. (NKL-TSX-V) and located 500 meters to the southwest of the Vault property. The Permian rocks are sedimentary and volcanic rocks of the Hasen Creek and Station Creek Formations, and the Wellgreen deposit was emplaced along the contact between these two formations. Soil samples collected on the Vault property in 2010 by Strategic Metals Ltd. (SMD-TSX:V) exhibited anomalous gold contents from 200 ppb to over 10,000 ppb Au. Historic mapping by the Yukon Geological Survey also identified igneous rocks on the Vault property that are similar to those hosting the Wellgreen PGE deposit(Israel and van Zeyl, Yukon Geological Survey Open File 2004-20).

In the latest program, a total of 89 grab samples were collected from outcrop (74 samples) and as float (15 samples). New gabbro outcrops were located outside of the historic mapping, along with peridotite float in the same area containing 42 parts per billion (ppb) platinum and 93 ppb palladium. Of the five grab samples of gabbro outcrop collected from the same area, one contained 23 ppb platinum and 29 ppb palladium. The anomalous samples are positioned where the northwest projection of the contact between the Hasen Creek and Station Creek Formations would be located. Quartz veins hosted in phyllite and andesite were also anomalous in gold, silver, and copper. One outcrop sample of phyllite with quartz veinlets assayed with 1.03 ppm Au and 1.43 ppm Ag, and a single quartz vein in phyllite assayed with 13.2 ppm Ag and 24.5% Cu. The most significant grab sample results are shown in the table below

All rock grab samples were treated and analyzed by AGAT Laboratories (Mississauga, Ontario). Standards and blanks were included with the samples. The following AGAT methods were used for analysis: multi-elements by ICP/ICP-MS finish; Au, Pt, and Pd by fire assay ICP-OES finish; overlimit Cu by AA.

A program of follow up soil sampling and stratigraphic mapping is planned with assays from each of the potential gold-carrying lithologies. Drilling of the property can be implemented before the end of the 2011 field season using a helicopter-portable core drill rig, is results generate targests.

CORKY (CU-AU+MO)

Corky is located 125 kilometers northwest of the community of Haines Junction. The property is a porphyry copper-gold target with potential molybdenum credits associated with high level granitic intrusions. The 750 hectare Corky property has seen limited geophysical surveys and drilling, with eight drill holes totaling only 800 meters. Based on the 2010 soil sampling that covered the majority of the property and coupled with the historical drilling locations, historical rock sample locations and historical trenching locations, the area boasts great potential for a porphyry style deposit.

Projected work for Corky includes (1) property mapping the lineaments and contact relationships with the intrusive rocks, the hornfels, and the skarns, along with determining sulphide and magnetite percentages; (2) continued soil sampling peripheral to the existing 2010 soil sampling to determine whether more staking is required to cover potential target areas.
