RE: Mali affect It's not the Tuarag so much as the fact that they aligned themselves with Ansar Din with the Alqaeda connection. Never heard a thing about the Taliban being there as they are focused on Afghanistan and the middle east. A push south at this point by them would most likely be met with some response possibly with assistance from France or NATO. Such a move by one faction possibly could result in infighting and a fractured front making a great opportunity for the Malian Army and ECOWAS to strike back.
