Mr. Richard Buzbuzian reports
ASHER EXPANDS KING MINE CLAIMS, NEVADA USA
Asher Resources Corp. has staked an additional 147 claims expanding its landholdings to 223 claims encompassing 4,460 acres at its King mine gold exploration project located in Nevada, United States.
"Asher's main area of interest at King Mine is the intensely fractured alteration zone that is recognized over a 900 by 600 meter area with the overall length of the hydrothermal system in the order of 1.5 km" commented Richard Buzbuzian, President and CEO. "With oxidized sheeted veins having returned assays up to 26 grams per ton gold over 2 meters, and with silicification and quartz veining returning assays up to 11 grams per ton gold in grab sampling, both completed in 2002, the claims expansion of the King Mine represented a very important first step before additional work could be initiated. I am pleased to report the claims staking is now complete setting the stage for additional work to commence shortly."
The claims were staked to cover the King Mine structural trend northward along the Monte Cristo Mountains range front and prospective alluvial covered areas west of the main gold prospects. The claims also cover an area of eruptive felsic volcanic rocks to the northeast that the United States Geological Survey identified as having hydrothermal alteration. The basis for the USGS alteration determination was based on satellite multispectral ASTER imagery and field follow-up analysis confirming that samples taken from the area, using x-ray diffraction, exhibit argillic alteration with the primary mineral being kaolinite.
The hydrothermally altered volcanic rocks having kaolinite indicate the presence of a potential epithermal gold-silver system.
King Mine, having never been drilled or properly explored, represents an excellent opportunity for Asher to employ modern exploration techniques to highly prospective ground as Asher looks to discovering and developing North American gold resources.
