VRB batteries do not generate power - they merely store it - so don't look for this technology to "replace" nuclear energy or coal generated energy or any other energy generating technology. Energy companies have,heretofore, not been able to store electricity. It's like water behind a dam or in a reservoir - run it through the turbines and generate electric energy that must be used quickly - or lose that electricity and just release the water. The Vanadium Redox Battery technology is able to store electrical energy so a company like Gill can buy it cheap - at night - and use it during the daytime when energy is in higher demand and more expensive.
