RE: RE: RE: RE: Fukushima w/ video Endorse,
What's with the hysteria? In the entire history of nuclear energy [nearly 70 years] there was one nasty accident at Chernobyl that cost a few dozen lives, Three Mile Island in which no one died, and Fukushima which was caused by an extremely rare event - a monster Earthquake well over the design limits of the nuclear facility followed by a huge tsunami. It has NEVER happened before and it's NOT going to wipe out humankind. Heck, people at "ground zero" in both Hiroshima and Nagasaki lived and we were trying to destroy them - it was war. Nuclear power IS safe, cheap and does not emit greenhouse gases. I'm sure every country that relies on nuclear energy is doing a study on every nuclear plant but in the end there will always be accidents you can't stop. Do we quit flying an airplane when one crashes? Do we quit driving when there is an horrific accident? No, we try to re-engineer to reduce the likelihood of another accident. Nuclear energy has an outstanding record and is the one energy 'fuel' that the world can afford rather than destroying our airshed with sulpherous fumes from coal. Nothing is perfect. If you seek perfection pray that there is a heaven and that you make it there. Everything else comes with risks. EVERYTHING
