Well... if this was a head and shoulders pattern, it would be bad news (if you believe technical analysis works), but it is an INVERTED head and shoulders pattern.  According to technical analysis (at least as I understand it, and I am not that good at it), this chart pattern should indicate a HIGHER oil price in the coming months, not a lower one. 

The problem, of course, is that nothing is ever quite as simple as it appears
