What is significant about the felsic volcanics are their high quartz content and ease of emplacement through the earths crust that has brought in many places significant mineralization with them. Their age is another significant factor as the later intrusives near them have resulted in deformation of the lighter felsics creating conduits for mineral deposits in many areas. Most felsic patches anywhere in the more accessible greenbelts of Ontario are completely staked. I'd prefer to begin exploring for near surface mineralization in these felsic perimeters in conjunction with favorable geo physics than most anywhere else in the search for economical deposits of gold.
