It's no rocket science. They have to reduce operating costs, sell enough coal to last till Q4 of 2012, and bet that the metcoal market turns to the upside. A lot to count on especially on the shoulders of current management. Huge unknown.
The challenge for retail investors now is the same as it has always been; buy, sell or hold. With the mountain of company specific and macro economic uncertainty now and into the short term, in my opinion, there's really nothing one can use to value the company, except perhaps for the resource itself. With 300+mil and perhaps higher with the new leased lands, what is the value per ton for this resource? At todays marketcap of $140-150mil., the resource is priced at less than
.50 per ton. I think this is way too cheap.
