The loss of power is a natural result of putting the diesel backup generators on the bottom floor -- the first place a flood will enter and water and electricity don't mix. All that human ignorance in the picture, yet nobody died as a result of the nuclear power plant. Germany wants out because of popular public opinion. Not simply "public opinion". Election times and nuclear power was used as a tool to win votes in several countries. Unemployment will be their next cause for concern coming election. Finally, a lot of us remember Chernobyl, and were around here in Europe to live through the disaster. And a lot of us, including our countries, are still in support of nuclear power. It's what enables a modern society and lifestyle.
