I agree collusion is a distinct possiblilty, especially within the Canadian market.   Our regulators are understaffed and are able to uncover only a fraction of the illegalities that occur.  It is a reality that our market has been tainted for a long time and it has become easy for the larger non-retail players to move share prices in the direction of their choice.  Sadly, neither macro market trends nor company fundamentals are useful any longer in evaluating many stocks.
