I disagree on a few fronts but still like the company prospects.

Food production and the inputs that go into them are largely unaffected by political upheaval.  There may be a slight deviation here or there when countries stock up or use what is in storage, but whether Greece is in or out in the grand scheme of things will have little effect on global food growth.

 

Second if BHP already has a large potash operation which may be put on hold due to pricing/demand why would they buy more?  Eventhough BHP is large they are not that large to be able to drop 3b on another dormant operation.  Add into the mix that Vale is ramping up their Brazilian operation, with Brazil being the largest importer, and the shorter term horizon is quite clear.

 

Long term fine but I suspect most people these days are very short term thinkers/"investors" = speculators.
