Contufi remarks

Read this from miningmx article.  Mark Cutifani, CEO of AngloGold Ashanti, who is becoming something of an opinion- maker, made the point the mining industry was still bathing in opportunity, as opposed to the sunset notion of South African mining where the emphasis tends to be on harvesting it. “About 40% of the world’s resources are in Africa. There can be no Asia miracle without Africa; the two go hand-in-hand,” he said. Some 11.5% of world GDP is mining driven; 21% if you include mining services, more if fuel, solvents, and the like is added into the equation. So on and so forth. The 200,000 jobs government would like created from mining by 2020 was a “bold target”, said Cutifani, but prudently added it was achieveable.
