Strike Minerals Corporate Update

Thursday, June 07, 2012

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 7, 2012) - Strike Minerals Inc. ("Strike") (TSX VENTURE:STK) is continuing underground development at its Edwards Mine project in Jacobson township near Wawa, Ontario and surface drilling and exploration at its Schreiber, Ontario project.

The Company is continuing the underground drifting on the Edwards #1 and Edwards #5 veins on the 60m level of the Edwards Mine project. The program is designed to provide geological information and gold content of the veins to confirm surface drill and historical underground results.

On the 60m level the Edwards #1 quartz vein that had significant gold values (See P.R. May 23, 2012) has been followed for an additional 10m. Face chip samples have been taken at each round over a distance of 22m and the weighted average assay over an average 1.5 metre vein width is 25.45 g/t Au. Drifting on the vein is continuing on the 60m level and all mineralized material is being stockpiled for future processing.

The geological interpretation indicates that this vein is the downward extension of a zone that was intercepted on the 30m level drifting from the old Edwards shaft. That zone is reported historically to grade 0.407 oz/t with a 6.5 foot width over a drift length of 80 feet.

The Company is in the process of sending representative samples to a laboratory for mineralogical examination as a prelude to determining the optimal process to recover the gold from the mineralization. Historically the previous mining had a gold recovery of approximately 95%.
