RIM has done an absolutely dreadful job in marketing their product and their company over the past couple of years. They allow themselves to be kicked in the privates time and time again by the media and do absolutely nothing to discourage false reporting when most of their competitors would have a dozen lawsuits lined up by now. And as far as product goes, they also seem to be brutally unaware that forcing customers and investors to wait in the dark with next to no information, buzz, or hype is the worst thing you can do. Apple seems to be slowing down with their product launches, but they are the masters of hype. And the Android universe doesn't appear to need as much hype because it seems like they're introducing a new product or o/s revision every month.
Tomorrow's results will influence me whether or not I keep the RIM shares I took a chance on or maybe add a bit to the position. RIM is a straight gamble at this stage.
