Drillex; I have no idea about your associate's 'problem'. Pressure will equalise in a closed system if a low-pressure volume within it is connected to one that is at higher pressure. That is a question for someone that has all the data and has expertise in reservoir engineering. I do not unfortunately. Sounds like your friend just got very lucky.... GL with it.
