RE: RE: Schachter Too funny.......funny that I haven't forgotten those predictions. I can list a few others over the course of the last few decades. Including many company mgmt teams who swore the divi was safe w/i certain parameters, only to cut it despite parameters not having been breached (will PLT be one of them?)
But.....I can also list some predictions that have come true, and thankfully that I listened to. The biggest one being those who were calling a bubble in the 2006/7 runup. When oil hit $140, I sold a few of my higher beta energy names (in hindsight, should have sold more), and added HED to the mix. My investor friends thought I was nuts. I didn't have long to wait after that. That move alone staved off a lot of hurt.
All this to say that I do listen even if these folks have had stinkers in the past. Nobody (including myself) is always right. It's pretty tough to nail these mkts down, especially with all the gov't meddling going on. Personally, I doubt that he'll be right in the scale of his prediction to the downside, as long as the government is propping things up (aka "don't fight the Fed", etc).
