@Esteban :  That's the tricky part, all right, because it will always be a function of recent trading volume.  Generally, I consider a "tip" when one of the two criteria are met :

 

1.  A daily volume that is 30% or more than the 10-day average volume ; or

2.  Larger-than-usual blocks suddenly showing up on the tape, and more often than not on upticks or even-ticks.

 

Yes, you have to be watching the tape and doing the average volume calculations so it requires active involvement by yourself or your broker or advisor.  But it's worth the effort.
