Drill intercepts

Drill intercepts

Mailman, don't go postal just yet. One of the things that I've been investigating in the technical reports is elevations (benches). Quentin Hennigh complained about only seeing "all of seven cross sections showing drill intercepts on the company’s website. Text displayed on these sections is painfully hard to read due to the very small font size used". Well, ol' Quentin should have put down his gin and tonic and zoomed in on these sections. He would have seen that the company has been drilling new high grade zones at lower and much deeper elevations than the historic drill programs, which were concentrated above 4200 ft. elevation in the Sanders, Rainbow and Pinkerton zones. And he would have known that if he had read the older technical reports, where scores of historic cross sectional diagrams can be viewed.  The new 43-101 shows that the resource has been calculated from data compiled between the 3550 and 4550 ft. benches. So the benches above 4250 ft. elevation  (1200 to 1500 levels) have improved from around  600,000 oz indicated and inferred (Giroux 2000, and 2006 revised data for the historic zones) to around 2,000,000 oz. indicated at 0.025 oz/ton. This was primarily achieved by reducing the cutoff grade from .046 oz/ton, twinning historic holes which were not included in the older calculations, and substantially expanding the resource via 2007-2012 drilling.

It is the recent (2007-2012) discovery of high grade new zones (Butts zone, western extension of BC vein, NW of proposed open pit, SW of the open pit, and overall higher grade intercepts in previously untested areas that contributed the more substantial revisions to the resource calculations. Six drill rigs (57,742 metre program) were turning on Cow Mtn. in 2011 alone... Will 10.6 million ounce calculation hold? Maybe not. But it'll be interesting to see where the dust settles. And, get ready for the Barkerville Mtn. resource estimate...
